We are St. Francis parishioners looking to build community through a fun and casual atmosphere. We are not professional chefs. We want to get to know the people across from us at Mass (and the people that attend a different Mass!) in a more meaningful way than just “Hi, how are you?” as we pass each other in church.

Through a randomizing program, we match up groups of 8 people to gather for dinner. We take turns being the host, so you’re never a host more than once per session. The host chooses the format for the gathering (happy hour, dinner, picnic, etc.) and coordinates a date with the people in their group that month. A common format in the past has been for the host to provide dinner & drinks and the attendees bring the appetizer, salad, and dessert.

The main thing to remember: this is about community and getting to know each other! You can do a pizza party if that’s what is easiest for you.
